01:48 am - Audiobook!
Defying all expectation and rationality, here's a 2nd post in the same day.
Yesterday and today, I went up to DC to visit family and see my old high school. To make time move faster, I took along an audiobook. LOCAL CUSTOM, by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, as read by Michael Shanks and put out by Buzzy Multimedia.

Can I just say how much I absolutely adore the Liadan books? They're so much fun. This one is... well, I want to describe it as a science fiction/space opera romance of manners. And with Shanks doing the narrating, you really get a view for the near-Shakespearian word/interplay between the main characters as they court, fight, duel, and connive, all with words as their weapons. Lee and Miller are awesome; the audiobook only enhances my enjoyment.

I love audiobooks. Next up is GRAVE PERIL, written by Jim Butcher, as read by James "Spike" Marsters.

Go here: http://www.buzzymultimedia.com/
Buy audiobooks.
Be happy.

Who cares about Grave Peril - the audio book. I want the bloody paperbook edition of 'Dead Beat' finally. You can't just start publishing hardcovers in the middle of the series. Sheesh

SF/Fantasy section:
Anything by Kim Harrison
Anything by Jim Butcher
War for the Oaks by Emma Bull
Kitty and the Midnight Hour, by Carrie Vaughn
Tithe and Valiant by Holly Black (Young adult section)
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (YA section)
Blue Girl by Charles de Lint (YA section)
Working for the Devil by Lilith Saintcrow (kinda of SF and fantasy but good)
Nightlife by Rob Thurman
The Nimble Man and Tears of the Furies, by Christopher Golden and Thomas
The Nightside series by Simon R. Green
Anything by Dawn Cook (she's more straight fantasy, but good)

Out of the Tor romance line:
Moons Web, Hunter's Moon, and Touch of Evil, all by Adams and Clamp.
Revenge Gifts, by Cindy Cruciger
The Midnight Work by Kassandra Sims

Out of the Harlequin Luna line:
Disappearing Nightly by Laura Resnick
Urban Shaman and Thunderbird Falls by C.E. Murphy
Poison Study by Maria Snyder (not urban fantasy, but excellent)
Curse the Dark and Staying Dead by Laura Anne Gilman

Other romances:
MaryJanice Davidson (humerous, occasionally hit and miss)
Katie MacAllister (Mary likes her stuff)

That should keep you busy for now. I'll try and think of more stuff.

Hey there... saw you on my friends list and thought I'd write. Looks like we have a lot of common interests, so I'm friending you back. Feel free to drop me a line and mention how you happened to stumble across my little corner of the net. :)

Recognized your name from the Jim Butcher mailing list (McAnally's) for one. :> Also recognized your name from the Exalted books you've done. As for stumbling across you, I think it was another case of friend-of-a-friend. I like to 'collect' writers and other people involved in the industry. :>
