|07:25 pm - New Short Story Sale|
I'm pleased to announce the sale of my story, "The Devil's Masquerade" to the upcoming photo prompt anthology from Circlet Press.
While the anthology has yet to find its final name, the theme was simple: study the picture supplied in the call for submissions, and write whatever the heck it inspired. As with any Circlet project, it had to be interesting, contain elements of the fantastic, and be damned hot. "The Devil's Masquerade" was the result, a sexy, sinful story about a pair of special investigators who go undercover at a decadent ball for the city's elite, in search of someone - or something - not on the guest list.
More details to follow when available. This marks my fifth sale to Circlet, not counting something I can't talk about yet.
Current Mood: pleased
Neither could I, for the longest time. I resigned myself time and again to missing out on this one, because, as the man once said, "I got nuthin'."
And then, at the literal last second, while driving, wham. Idea. The characters sprang into my head, told me what was going on, and I got to work. How could I resist, once the characters introduced themselves? Go figure. :>
Thank you. I like it when I can announce good things. :>
Yay! I think you can claim "frequent contributor" status now. :D
And ooh. Am intrigued.
Yeah, I think so too. My continued success in this line of work still baffles me, but I'm not complaining.
I guess my next goal should be 10 sales to them. :)
Thanks. And always good to know people are actually paying attention here. :>
That is awesome, congratulations. :)
Ooh! Spankingly well done, sir. :D
I need to keep an eye on Circlet for calls for submission. I'd have loved to have scribbled something for that prompt (there are germinating bits of something already fomenting along that theme, in my maze of a head).
Yeah, keep your eyes open. There's a few places that regularly post calls for submissions, including the Circlet website, their Livejournal community, and the erotic_authors LJ community (links can be found in my info). Also check out the Erotic Readers and Writers Association
for more resources and guidelines. :>
