04:05 pm - New Sale Sold: "Hannah and the Witch" to Bedknobs and Beanstalks, an ebook anthology of romantic erotic gay/lesbian fairy tales, to be released by Ravenous Romance at some point in the near future.
Two things of note. 1) This will be my second published story to take place in my Puxhill setting, following "The Muse's Mask" in Like A God's Kiss. I always wanted this setting to become 'real' through publication, but I never expected it would be through erotica. I do have more um.. what's the best term? More "mainstream" pieces set in Puxhill as well, but those haven't sold yet.
2) "Hannah and the Witch" is a retelling of the classic fairy tale "Hans My Hedgehog." I wrote it as a challenge, to see if I could make urban fantasy sense out of the wacky fairy tale logic of the original. I had to take a few liberties with the narrative, but I'd like to think I stayed true to the themes.
I'll be sure to let people know when this collection is available. And I promise, I really am trying to write and sell stories that you can take home to your parents. :>
In other news... well, there's not much to say. Scheherazade's Facade opens for submissions in just under three months, and I'm looking forward to seeing what people submit for it.
That's all for now. Current Mood: pleased

Thumbs up on that icon, man. Too awesome for words. That's fantastic, Mike. :) I'm really, really glad for you! Hi there! New person here, though we have a lot of LJ people in common. That's really good news about the story. That's a tale I like quite a bit. and I LOVE gay and lesbian fairy tales! (I edited a collection of 'em).
I really look forward to submitting to Scheherazade's Facade. :) Thanks for dropping by. I know I've seen your name here and there in the past.
The more excitement I see regarding Scheherazade's Facade, the happier I am, and the more it soothes those quiet doubts of "Oh dear, what have I gotten myself into?" :> |
