|11:29 am - Thank You|
I just wanted to extend a cheerful "Thanks!" to everyone who's shown support and/or enthusiasm for Scheherazade's Facade so far, including all the well-wishers from my earlier post. I appreciate the thumbs up, and I'm just as excited as some of you are, if not a whole lot more. Keep spreading the word so that when the reading period rolls around, my only problem is having too -many- quality subs to choose from.
For the next few months, you probably won't hear too much more about the project over here, since there won't be that much to tell. Monthly reminders, perhaps. Maybe a cute little ticking clock counting down the seconds. But nothing much. (I kid, I kid.) Seriously, it's just nice knowing this isn't happening in a vaccuum.
In the meantime, it's back to work on writing reviews and my own fiction. And we all know what that's like.
(I so need to make or find some sort of icon appropriate to Scheherazade...)
Current Mood: pleased
Sorry for not offering congrats on this sooner. I've been ...er ...swamped. Congrats!
It's okay, I know how busy you are. :>
So very, VERY glad to see this getting the green light!
BTW did you know that Norilana has a gender-bending Jane Austen work launching next week? I proofread James Fairfax
--if you decide to read it, make sure you get the edition about to be printed, and not the arc. I am wary of Regency era stuff as I read so much in the period (which is why Vera asked me to proof it) but enjoyed this one thoroughly.
Very cool, I'll make a mental note of that, though I'm not much of an Austen fan... (I think you lose 'guy' points for liking Jane Austen. :> )
Oh, nowadays you gain them back, bigtime, at least with the ladies!
So, yeah, I hadn't said anything because I assumed your awesome writer-y self will already have tons of announced submissions and awed friendly congratulations - here's mine, by the way.
But I've spread the word around, and I think a friend of mine might submit something. I would try too, but I'm not that good with the "finishing the story" part of writing. However, if this should change in the foreseeable future, you can expect a hopeful little submission peeking your way.
Thanks. Good to hear from you. :> Responses have been quietly positive so far as people start pondering ideas, it seems.
