My contributor copy of the April 2009 issue of Realms of Fantasy just arrived, and with it, the last column I had the opportunity to submit to them. In this issue, I cover:

... Goodman's Dragoneye book not too long ago. What were your thoughts? In short, I really enjoyed it. I thought it set up an interesting world with an intriguing mythology, some nifty fight scenes, and a few honest surprises, even as it invoked the old and familiar through its use of Chinese archetypes and martial arts films.

I enjoyed it, but it didn't get top marks because there were some parts that were so telegraphed that I could hear the Morse Code in the background. I thought about running by the Roanoke B&N this past Saturday specifically to see if they had the last Realms, but didn't, figuring, It won't be out yet...But I can get a copy otherwise sooner or later. Any chance I can get a copy of that review? I don't even know if you liked it or not :) Check your LJ message box. |
