And so we had ourselves a nice Sunday. Got up, hit the jazz brunch at the hotel, where we watched a 5-man band play some nice, funky jazz while we indulged in fairly decent brunch-type food, and then off we went to the French Quarter. There, we wandered around a bit, until it was time to catch the Barkus parade. Barkus is basically about a million kids and dogs and owners marching along... Yeah, just about every species you care to name, and then some. It was hilarious, and cute. I got to meet so many interesting dogs. And people. Barkus went on for ages, though. Something about trying to herd that many dogs and people.
Afterwards, we wandered around and killed time for a few hours. More beignets at the Cafe du Monde, a little shopping, and then ultimately it was off to dinner at Emeril's NOLA restaurant. To keep it short, the food was incredible. Look it up, check out their menu. I'm too tired to link to it myself at the moment.
After we finished that, it was a slow walk back to the hotel, and thereupon to collapse for the day. I'm sure Mary will elaborate at some point about the sighs and sounds and tastes, if asked nicely.
