|02:09 pm - Realms of Fantasy - December 2007|
And, surprisingly early, my contributor's copies of the December 2007 issue of Realms of Fantasy have arrived, with a cover date of February 2008, which means the magazine should show up in the stores within the next few weeks.
In this issue, my YA review column covers:
Midnight Alley, by Rachel Caine, the 3rd in the Morganville Vampires series.
Uninvited, by Justine Musk
Book of a Thousand Days, by Shannon Hale
Hero, by Perry Moore
The Nixie's Song, by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black
Little (Grrl) Lost, by Charles de Lint
Fight Game, by Kate Wild
Submitted, but apparently cut for space was Weregirls: Birth of the Pack, by Petru Poprescu...
I guess I ran over word budget again.
Currently reading for, and working on, the next installment of the column, tentatively to include new books by Neal Shusterman, Scott Westerfeld, Henry Neff, Amanda Marrone, Phillip Reeve, and Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. I reckon I have the better part of two weeks to finish it, so this lineup can change. More importantly, I have at least 1-2 spots left on the lineup, so I'm open to reccomendations. Only caveat is they need to be as recent as possible, or coming out sometime soon, and I have to be able to get my hands on them before the first of December-ish. So feel free to suggest something!
Fiction in this issue includes stories by M. K. Hobson, Josh Rountree, Benjamin Rosenbaum, Elizabeth Bear, Margaret Ronald, and Peni Griffin.
Current Mood: cheerful
Meant to let you know - Goblin War was kind enough to show up in my mailbox a few days ago, just in time to backstab its way to the head of the reading line. I've got that one slated for Green Man, like its brethren. :> (I was pleased to see a quote lifted from my review of Goblin Hero on the inside...)

Really? I haven't even seen the ARCs yet. But I'm glad my publisher is a step ahead of me :-)
